Methodology
This is the standing, catalog-wide sourcing policy behind every gear spec, comparison and buying guide on GameVault Deals. It applies identically to every product — it's stated once here rather than repeated on every page as if it varied, because it doesn't.
Primary source: the manufacturer/Amazon listing
Every spec in our gear catalog is copied directly from the product's own listing (the manufacturer's stated specs as published on Amazon). Nothing is estimated, benchmarked by us, or inferred from a similar product.
No independent lab or benchmark testing
We don't own the hardware, run our own benchmarks, or independently measure anything in the catalog. Every number is exactly what the manufacturer reports — we have no way to confirm it beyond that, and we don't claim to.
Retrieval dates are recorded
Every product has a real "last verified" date — set to when its specs were actually checked against the live listing, not a placeholder. If a correction is made later, it's logged in that product's visible correction history rather than silently edited.
Current cross-referencing policy
We currently pull from a single source (the product's own listing) per product — we do not yet cross-reference other retailers, review sites or community-reported values to check for conflicting numbers. Where this matters for a specific comparison, it's noted on that comparison directly rather than implied.
Why this is stated once, not per-product
These four points are structural facts about how a one-person site sources data — they're identical for every product in the catalog. Scoring them per-product would imply variance that isn't real. What genuinely does vary comparison to comparison — whether measurement conditions are known, whether conflicting values were actually checked, what's explicitly disclosed as unverified — is shown as a completeness view on each comparison page instead.
